18 wives, 18 murders: Mohan Kumar, a former teacher in India, has confessed to marrying and murdering 18 women since 2003.

Mohan Kumar, 46, admitted to the murders of the women, aged between 18 and 25 after being detained by police on Wednesday in a case involving a missing girl.

According to media reports, Kumar would approach the girls and tell them that they resembled someone he knew, just to strike up a conversation.

After asking them about their family backgrounds, he would meet them for a few times before proposing marriage. He would insist that his family would not want any dowry, as it is the custom among many ethnic groups in India.

If the woman agreed, he would take her to a temple to get married according to Hindu rites.

Investigations showed that each of his "wives" did have a honeymoon before they were murdered. They were taken to different lodges in Bangalore, Mysore, Hassan and Madikeri in the state of Karnataka.

However, soon after having sex, he would make them swallow cyanide pills, which he would claim were contraceptives pills.

Float-Away Flying Saucer Lands in Colo.; Found Empty: A homemade UFO-like balloon crashes near Denver. It is believed that Falcon Heene, a 6-year-old boy who should be inside the balloon, is missing. The balloon was built by Falcon's father, Richard Heene who is a storm chaser, as an experiment for commuter travel. Both Richard Heene and his wife Mayumi Heene had twice appeared on the ABC show "Wife Swap".

An experimental balloon thought to be carrying a 6-year-old Colorado boy crashed near Denver this afternoon after a harrowing two-hour flight, but officials at the scene did not find the boy aboard the aircraft. Authorities believe Falcon Heene, 6, may have climbed into a box attached to the 20-foot aircraft, described by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office as a "homemade flying saucer," and floated away from his family's backyard in Fort Collins, Colo.

When the aircraft landed and was met by sheriff's officials, neither Falcon nor the box was found.

Kathy Messick, Larimer County sheriff's spokeswoman, says one of the boy's brothers saw him get into the box or basket, which was attached to the aircraft with pegs.

The 20-foot-long, dome-shaped aircraft covered with foil, was built by the boy's father Richard Heene, a former weatherman who said he was designing an aircraft for commuter travel.

It happened during a taping of the latest edition of TD Bank's Mini 1-on-1 challenge at the Garden.

Oliver is a forward for the Portland Junior Pirates.

Mini 1-on-1 debuts Oct. 29 after the first period of the Bruins-Devils game on NESN.

THIS little girl learned her lesson when she played truant - and impaled herself on a steel fence spike trying to climb out of the playground. Xiao Zhang, 12, was rescued by firefighters who abandoned attempts to cut her free and simply lifted her off the spike in Wenzhou, southern China.

She told the Austrian Times: "I was in a lot of pain but I didn't call for help at first because I didn't want to get into trouble for missing school."

One rescue worker added: "She's lucky it didn't shatter any bones and was just a flesh wound."

I praised X on its boutique decor and also commented that the desserts can be further improved on.

The next day, I was shocked and disappointed to read X's reply. To cut a long email short, the gist is that she has referred my blog url to her legal consultant and wanted me to remove my post within 24hours to avoid any legal proceedings, if any. I was appalled by this and hence, decided to write to this forum as I believe this raised interesting questions that may be of interest to your readers...

There is also a disclaimer on my blog saying that all comments are based on personal preference. I have replied X's email yesterday but there has been no reply since.

This letter is definitely not a complaint. I am just concerned with this issue and would like to know what the public thinks about it. Food blogging is just a personal interest for many of us; it takes time, effort and commitment to maintain a blog.

Boyzone's Stephen Gately is dead: Stephen Gately, one of the members of boy band Boyzone, was found dead while on holiday in Majorca. He was 33 and was married to Andrew Cowles. The rest of Boyzone, Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham will be flying to Majorca.

The Boyzone singer Stephen Gately, 33, has been found dead while on holiday in Majorca.

The group's tour website said that he had "tragically died" and that the rest of the band would be flying out to Majorca on Sunday. The website also said Gately had been on holiday with his long-term partner Andy Cowles when he died on Saturday. Boyzone announced their comeback tour last November. The band had six UK number one hits between 1994 and 2000.

The News of the World's showbusiness editor Dan Wootton told Sky News Gately had gone out for drinks, returned to his accommodation and gone to sleep, but never woke up.

Gately revealed that he was gay and had a boyfriend in June 1999. The two later married in a private civil partnership ceremony in London in 2006.

After Boyzone split Gately continued his career as a solo artist, but was dropped by Polydor in 2001 after three Top 20 singles. He enjoyed further success performing in musicals, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 2003-04. Gately also appeared in 2007 on ITV1's reality series Dancing on Ice, and was voted Hero of 1999 at the Smash Hits Poll Winners' Party.

Boyzone manager Louis Walsh told the newspaper,

We're all absolutely devastated.

I'm in complete shock. I was only with him on Monday at an awards ceremony. We don't know much about what's happened yet.

I only heard after The X Factor and we will rally around each other this week. He was a great man.

Shane Lynch, a member of Boyzone, said

Me and the boys are flying out in the morning. We just need to get over to where he's passed and work out what we need to do.

In Paper Heart, which Yi co-wrote with director Nick Jasenovec, she conducts a series of cross-country interviews for a faux documentary on modern love. Yi plays a slightly fictionalized version of herself, and she’s masterful as a bookish cynic—within the film’s first few minutes, she’s already told her friends, a biology professor and none other than indie heartthrob Michael Cera that she doesn’t believe in love. But after she falls for Cera, the film’s focus shifts to follow the couple as they stutter and stumble through the growing pains of young romance.

Paper Heart debuted at Sundance 2009, and was immediately hailed as a breakout hit. “We were really surprised by the reaction—after Sundance we expected to only get screenings in L.A. and maybe New York,” Yi says in her staccato voice. "Instead it blew up into this big cultural thing, like it’s our generation’s next great love story or something."

Yu Shu Ping would watch the shows on her laptop computer until past midnight, and advice by her 35-year-old fiance Au Guan Rong resulted in arguments.

She then packed her belongings, including the computer, and left their home on Tuesday.

SingTel unveiled on Saturday football fans need to pay just S$23 to watch the Barclays English Premier League (EPL) on mio TV starting next year.

The telco on October 1 announced it had won the rights to the popular EPL for three years, starting from the 2010 season, after out-bidding rivals StarHub.

Fans had earlier expressed reservations it could cost more to switch from the current provider to SingTel.

However, the company has slashed the price by some 60 per cent from the current S$53 charged by StarHub.

StarHub's S$53 charge comprises S$24 for a basic package, S$25 for the sports package and S$4 for rental of the set-top box.

To catch EPL on mio TV, subscribers will only pay S$23, which covers all 380 Premier League Games, and comes inclusive of a set-top box and without the need for a basic plan.

Subscribers who sign up for a year will get the UEFA Champions League for free.

Earlier, Starhub announced that it will not levy early termination fees to subscribers of sports packages who cancel the service after July next year.

This is my open letter to Ali Lohan.

Your not entitled to anything simply because your sister has a recognizable name. Your idea of fame isn't fame. It's infamy. You want to be famous? Work your ass off and make decisions that could potentially catapult your career into a lasting one. Notariety for who you are and notaritey for the work you produce are two completely differnt things. I understand that you have been brought up in an envirtoment where the idea of fame is easily achievable but, that's not an excuse. You lack the talent, social understanding and credibility to be anything other then infamous. Your careere choices, thus far, will transcend a future career as someone who attempted to be famous, but never quite achieved it. And if you do, it will be the formality of fame that puts you on the covers of tabloids, while the public idly watches you plumit into the murky abyss shared with the likes of Spencer Pratt & Jon Gosslin who, i'm sure, will steal your money whilst there. Fortunately for the world, there are people who have and don't have recognizable names, who have obtained artistic integrity and will one day, hopefully, bring that tangible artisticness into light again. Though, its hard to think thats achievable when people like You ali lohan are rendering the world of true talent by attempting to make your entitled ass noticed. How is this fair to the people who HAVE artistic integrity, or a mind? How is it fair to those who truly have something to offer the human race other then a dwindling last name and a few shitty films, both of which, solidified the idea that your just a celebrities sibling. I recognize that i might come across as harsh and no, i don't personally know you, but its the actions that you take, that speak for you. You blatently don't care how your recognized, its the objective to get famous and that is what makes you replaceable and a recycled idea .Well, im ashamed to have to be grouped into the same category of person as you. I would rather die a most painful death the be assoicated with the kind of careere your trying to make for your self. I hope i'm wrong because generally i'm not a very judgmental person, but in the case of you, that is MY entitlement.

On Friday, NASA had sent the LCROSS (Lunar CRater Observing and Sensing Satellite), a robotic spacecraft, to take photos of a spacecraft crashing into one of the craters of the moon. The crash experiment is to search for hidden ice and water beneath the moon's rock. This exercise, which NASA calls moon bombing, costed taxpayers $79 million.
