This was taken from one of Lancerlad's nursery rhymes book. He asked me how to sing this song. I have not heard of this one before. I am bad with nursery rhymes.

My Granduncle who is staying with us is a hooker loves hooks. Hooks are slowly appearing on the walls of his room.

But this hook is the best. I think the wordings are too small for my Granduncle to read. He just anyhow buy.

I was clumsy enough to forget my laptop (in it's small grey bag) on the office's floor and walk away. I noticed I've lost it only an or two later...

I ran like a maniac back to the post-office, to discover that my laptop was taken by the police.

Why are there traffic operations along the expressway during peak hours where cars are bumper to bumper?

That was what happened just now when I was travelling 60km/h along the expressway for about 10 over kilometers. So many cars in front, my speedometer had no chance to exceed 60.

Lancerlad was watching a cartoon about polar bears just now. He then looked at me and said that polar bears can be found in the zoo. I told him that they can be also found in cold places. He continued to probe with questions. "Why polar bears cannot stay at our flat?". "Why they must stay in cold places?". Why this, why that.

I tried my best to answer his questions and kept repeating over and over again so that he would understand. Then he interrupted and said, "Stop. Stop. I want to watch cartoon."

Guess I was too long-winded.

There are so many cars parked at the multistorey car parks near my flat. Many months before, the top few levels were empty. Now there are cars filled to the top level.

Is this a sign that many can afford to buy cars? There are even a few families that own more than 1 car.

I wanted to make milk for Lancerlad this morning and instead of putting milk powder into his bottle, I put coffee powder. Usually Lancerlad takes 4 scoopful of milk powder. After putting 2 teaspoons of coffee into his bottle, I then realised what I was doing.

A sign that I still have not recovered from a persistent flu. Also a sign that I have been working too much.

of run for funds

This is my part to spread the word and create awareness of the Run For Funds Project after reading JayWalk's posts.

The Run For Funds Project was started in 2002 by Adrian Lee. It is non profit and its aim is to raise funds for the needy in the Geylang community. I applaud what Adrian and his Superfriends are doing. As of 2004, over S$28,000.00 was raised. The money was put into good use. The Run For Funds website gives a breakdown on how the funds were spent.

This year the target is to raise S$40,000.00. In 2 weeks time, the Run For Funds Superfriends will don their running shoes and run in the Stanchart Marathon. To contribute, simply pledge an amount for every kilometre Adrian and his friends run. If $1 is pledged and if Adrian completes 42 kilometres, $42 will be contributed into the fund.

Visit Run For Funds. (Also go to the old site at www.runforfunds.com for more background information).

If you are interested to contribute to the project or join in the run or have any queries, kindly email Adrian at adrian@runforfunds.com

Spread the word. Spread the cause.

of what is secret

Lancerlad has started to pay more attention to words and sound that are being played over the television. In the past, he would just sit still and watch quietly. I guess he just watched the pictures and filtered out the sounds.

Yesterday when we were watching the "Dirty Little Secret" music video by The All American Rejects, Lancerlad asked what was the meaning of "Dirty Little Secret". I think I failed to convey the meaning to Lancerlad because he kept asking over and over again...until he gave up asking.

of waited so long for nothing

Last week, I had popped into a bank to open a CPF investment account. When my queue number was up, I approached the counter. Unfortunately they do not have the application forms at the bank.

lancerlord: Hi, I like to open a CPF investment account please.

CSO: Investment account. Sir, let me check if we have the application forms.

* CSO goes to the back, talks to the bank manager and returns *
CSO: Sorry sir, we do not have any forms. If you drop by our XXX branch, they will have the forms there.

lancerlord: So your bank does not allow customers to open CPF investment accounts?

CSO: No, we can open an account. It is just that we need to request the forms to be sent to us from XXX branch. Then when the forms are completed, we need to send it back to XXX branch for processing. If you go to the XXX branch, it will be better. You can get the account on the spot. It will be faster that way.

Does not make sense but consider me unlucky. I spent half an hour waiting and just spent another 2 minutes with the CSO and I was out of the bank. I should have checked with one of the counter staff in the first place.

Anyways, I have opened an account with another bank on Friday.

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.
13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.
20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.
30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!
40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

A week of vacation ended up with more stress from work. More last minute work and new work requirements cropped up when I was not around.

This year is a different picture from the previous years when most people were clearing their annual leaves and the office was like a ghost town.

I still cannot feel the "end of year" Christmas mood yet. I think this year I can only feel the festive mood on Christmas eve.

of blog consolidating effort

Remember Wandie's SG Bloglocator, Kevin has now created a Frappr! Map for Singaporeans living in North America. It is a cool way of consolidating a list of bloggers. Those living in North America (working there, studying there or doing nothing there), can add yourselves into the map.

Wandie has expressed interest in expanding the SG Bloglocator. With the large number of Singaporean bloggers, Singapore can be a huge red dot on the map.

Click is consolidating a list of Singaporean blogs under the Singapore Weblogs Directory. There are close to 60 blogs listed.

of 7806 feeds to go

I have been clearing my Bloglines feeds for the past 4 days.

I was expecting the huge number of new feeds when I logged into my Bloglines account. Two thirds of them are mostly from sites like boing-boing, engadget, Digg and LinkFilter.

The remaining 3000 feeds are from blogs that I have subscribed to. The blog that contributed the most feeds was from Singabloodypore. 51 new feeds. Champion! Followed closely by 0811 with 44 feeds. There are also a lot of you that posted at least 1 post each day. Some even up to 3 posts.

7806 feeds to go. I will continue to clear the feeds from those sites first then I will move on to read your blogs. In the meantime, can you all stop posting so that can give me a chance to clear my feeds? :)

of nice holiday

After spending a week at the 'undefined' location, we are safely back in Singapore.

Lancerlady, Lancerlad and I spent 5 days relaxing and 'rotting'. Enjoyed ourselves alot. Unfortunately Lancerkid could not be with us. We will bring him on another trip when he can sit quietly alone in his seat.

We bought lots of stuff and managed to do some Christmas shopping. Now my mind is still in a holiday mood.

Thanks to those who left comments in my previous post and also thanks to those who consistently visited this blog to check for updates (even it was not updated) while I was away.

I will be taking a blog break and going to an 'undefined' place. Lancerlady and I have been married for 5 years and this is only our second holiday. First one was our honeymoon. We will be back in a week's time.
