Our earnings have caused such a distraction for so many from the more pressing issues our country faces, and I would like to see my share of it benefit those truly in need.....

In light of the uncertainty over the ultimate taxation and legal status of this payment, the actual amount I donate may be less — in fact, it may end up being far less if the recent House bill raising the tax on the retention payments to 90 percent stands. Police in Hungtington Beach, south of LA County, are searching for a Laguna Niguel woman who is accused of using someone's identity to pay for $15,000 worth of cosmetic surgery.

A $20,000 arrest warrant has been issued for Yvonne Jean Pampellonne, 30, who was identified through a photo line-up as the woman who allegedly had liposuction and a breast implant at the Pacific Center for Plastic Surgery in Huntington Beach, said Huntington Beach police Detective Larry Pitcher. Pampellonne went in for the procedures in September but never returned for follow-up appointments, Pitcher said.

A NANYANG Technological University infocomm project officer was found hanged in a staff apartment at the NTU campus on Friday night.

Mr Zhou Zheng, 24, a Chinese national from the Division of Information at the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) was pronounced dead in his flat at Block 101C Nanyang Heights at about 10.50pm.

I heard that it was a Caucasian exchange student. He was found at about 5 a.m. or 6 a.m. He and some others had been making noise in the kitchen, then around that time he fainted.

The cause of death has yet to be released by police in Singapore.

Professor Chan Kap Luk is the Deputy Director of Biomedical Engineering Research Centre, at the NTU's division of Information Engineering. He has been with the School of EEE since 1992.

NTU released a statement, saying

A final year student, David Hartanto Widjaja, 21, from the electrical and electronic engineering school is believed to have stabbed Associate Professor Chan Kap Luk, 45, this morning, 2 March 2009, and to have subsequently fallen off the linkway between two blocks.

The ambulance and the police were called immediately. Mr Widjaja was pronounced dead. Mr Widjaja's parents and Prof Chan's family members have been notified. Prof Chan is receiving medical treatment at the National University Hospital and is recovering well.
