A strong 6.9-magnitude quake struck Indonesia's western Sumatra Sunday, the country's geophysics agency said.Tremors in Singapore could be felt in Hougang, Bedok, Marine Parade and Bishan, Punggol.
The epicentre of the quake, which struck at 2:38 pm (0738 GMT), was located 43 kilometres southeast of Siberut in western Sumatra.
It was measured at a depth of 32 kilometres.
There was no tsunami warning issued, officials at the country's meteorology agency said.
The US Geological Survey said on its website that the quake measured a magnitude of 7.0 in the Kepuluan Mentawi area and at a depth of 50.8 km.
