Bolshoi prima ballerina Marina Semyonova died today at her home, according to an announcement by the Bolshoi Theatre. She was 102-years-old.Link (in Russian)
Semyonova was born in St. St. Petersburg in 1908. She graduated from the Agrippina Vaganova ballet school in 1925 and joined Bolshoi in 1930.
She performed with Bolshoi until 1952. In 1932 she was invited to the Paris Opera. After retiring she worked as a ballet teacher teaching dancers such as Natalia Bessmertnova, Nina Sorokina, Nadezhda Pavlova y Maya Plisetskaya.
