Missile-firing Israel Air Force aircraft attacked a car carrying gunmen in the central Gaza refugee camp of Nuseirat on Tuesday, and Palestinian sources said a senior member of the militant Popular Resistance Committees, who is also an official of the Hamas-led government, was killed in the attack. The Palestinian sources identified the dead man as Mubarak al-Hasanat, 37, who they said was a senior official in the Hamas administration's Interior Ministry and the deputy commander of the Popular Resistance Committees, a loose alliance of militants from various factions involved in rocket attacks.
