Typhoon Fanapi brings heavy rain to Taiwan: Typhoon Fanapi (凡那比) creating havoc for Taiwan.

Typhoon Fanapi now sees its center on the land southeastern to Huanlien downtown, keeping its way westward, with storm circle over Taiwan and Penghu area, according to the latest announcement released by the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) Sunday morning.

The weather data also showed that the intensity of the said tropical storm was decreasing in the past three hours. But the strong wind and heavy rain continue. It’s now moving westward at 20 km per hour, with the maximum wind speed at 40 m per second, equals to 13 in terms of wind scale.

台湾“气象局”表示，花莲于上午7时24分出现17级强阵风，相当于时速220公里强风，每平方公尺受力约499公斤撞击力，宜兰苏澳在5时30分及8时也出现16级强阵风，相当于时速190公里强风。
