Tom Brady OK after Thursday A.M. car accident, will become highest-paid player in NFL: Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback, was involved in a car accident.

At 6:34 a.m., in the Back Bay section of Boston not far from his home, Brady's Audi sedan collided with a minivan at an intersection. Brady was unhurt and able to practice in the afternoon. A passenger in the other vehicle was hospitalized. Police said the other driver, Ludgero Rodrigues, 21, was cited for running a red light. According to a Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles spokesperson, Rodrigues' license has been suspended five times in three years. That included once for refusal to take a blood-alcohol test.The "Jaws of Life" were needed to remove a male passenger from the minivan.
Tom Brady was just made the highest paid NFL player, worth $19 million per season.
Roughly 16 hours after Brady was involved in a serious car accident, Sports Illustrated's Peter King appeared on the telecast of Thursday night's Saints-Vikings season opener to report that Patriots owner Robert Kraft had told him the team had finalized a four-year deal with the QB that averages $19 million per season. It makes him the highest paid player in the game.
