The man who pioneered Britain’s first unisex hair salon has been given an emotional tribute by staff and customers after he died of a heart attack.
Hundreds of stylists throughout the country stopped work to honour Guy Mascolo, co-founder of the international hairdressing company Toni&Guy.
They held a two-minute silence then, accompanied by customers, many in mid-cut, they left their salons to release white balloons in remembrance of Mr Mascolo, 65, who died in his art studio in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday.
