of iphone disappointment
Matt says
The process of buying the Apple iPhone was pretty easy. Glenda and I walked into a store in Daly City at about 8:30 PM and each ordered one, and walked out. No lines. The device is physically much more elegant and smaller than I expected, and the iTunes-integrated signup process was fairly smooth. However, it’s been hours now and still no activation, which means I have a very expensive paperweight, which is worse than not having it at all.

Before the Stop-Motion video of The Singapore Flyer was approved by Metacafe, it was rejected once...and this was the reason given by Metacafe.
Well the people at Metacafe were kind to me now. They have reviewed the video and have given it video a 'clean' slate of health.

of no outside food allowed
We had planned to celebrate lancerkid's birthday at Swensen's. Few days ago, we ordered a cake from Bengawan Solo and informed our family members of the time and place where the birthday party will be held.
At the entrance, one of the staff saw the cake we were holding and told us that we were not allowed to bring outside food because Swensen's is Halal. When we told the staff that the cake we had bought is Halal (so we thought), the staff still insisted no outside food was allowed.
No choice, we looked for other places to have the birthday party.
