Football superstar Ronaldo "That’s my son in Singapore": Brazilian superstar footballer Ronaldo confirms he has a son living in Singapore.

It’s official: Brazilian superstar footballer Ronaldo has a son living in Singapore. Ronaldo tweeted "Alex é meu filho" [Alex is my son].

The ex-Barcelona, Inter Milan and Real Madrid star confirmed via his Twitter account on Wednesday night that he is indeed the biological father of 5-year-old Alexander, who lives with his mother Ms Michele Umezu, 28, in the city-state.

Ms Umezu, who works as a freelance model, had a brief fling with the three-time Fifa World Player of the Year when they met back in Tokyo in 2004. Alexander is believed to be a product of that union.

Ronaldo, who now plays for Brazilian club Corinthians, had said on Monday on his Twitter feed that he had a DNA test to determine whether he was really the father of a five-year-old boy in Singapore.

The 34-year-old striker took the test because Ms Umezu has been trying since 2009 to have him recognised as the father and is demanding child support.

An unusual fish was found off a Japanese island — and the scaly creature bears an uncanny resemblance to lovable ogre Shrek. The fella’s something called an Asian Sheepshead Wrasse. While the bulbous head is normal for the species, area divers claim this guy’s goofy features and Shreky ears are anything but common.

The Asian sheepshead wrasse (Semicossyphus reticulatus) is a species of fish in the Labridae family. It is found in China, Japan, North Korea, and South Korea. Its natural habitats are open seas, shallow seas, subtidal aquatic beds, and coral reefs. Its unusual appearance has earned it international media attention. One of the largest wrasses, the Asian sheepshead wrasse is an extraordinary pinkish-grey fish with large, swelling-like protrusions on the ‘forehead’ and ‘chin’.

Japan's former finance minister Shoichi Nakagawa, who was forced to resign over his apparently drunken behaviour at a meeting of world powers, was found dead at his home in Tokyo earlier today. Mr Nakagawa, 56, was found dead in a bedroom by his wife at his home in Tokyo's residential district of Setagaya. The cause of death was not immediately unknown. The Kyodo news agency reported that no external injuries were found on his body, while national broadcaster NHK said a will has not been found.

Mr Nakagawa, a close ally of then prime minister Taro Aso, was incoherent and slurred his speech at a news conference in February after the Group of Seven talks in Rome amid the global economic crisis. A heavyweight in the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Mr Nakagawa said he had sipped some wine with lunch before the press conference but blamed jet lag and cold medicine for his drowsiness. More odd behaviour followed when he visited a museum at the Vatican after the news conference. He touched exhibits and set off an alarm after entering an off-limits area. The G7 trip was widely seen as a major embarrassment for the Japanese government.

An Asian black bear has been shot dead after attacking a group of tourists at a bus station in central Japan. Four people were seriously injured in the attack in Takayama, Gifu prefecture, according to the Japanese news agency Kyodo. After the attack, the 1.3m (4ft) bear fled through the bus terminal, and into a souvenir shop. Employees then trapped it inside the shop, and the bear was later shot dead by officials.

The male bear attacked a group of nine people, mostly tourists who were visiting nearby mountains. According to Kyodo, four men were seriously hurt, with injuries including facial bite marks.

"I saw a man being attacked by the bear," one eyewitness told reporters.

"I tried to help him but the bear kept attacking him. It seemed his face was seriously injured."

An expert on Asian black bears told Kyodo it was unusual for them to attack humans.

Venezuelan Stefania Fernandez crowned Miss Universe 2009: Miss Venezuela wins Miss Universe for the second year in a row. Miss Dominican Republic, Ada Aimee De La Cruz, was named first runner-up.

The 18-year-old was crowned by another Venezuelan, Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe 2008, marking the first time that two contestants from the same country have won the title in consecutive years.

As Miss Universe, Fernandez will have the use of a New York City apartment for the year of her reign, and will receive living expenses. Other prizes include a two-year scholarship at the New York Film Academy; a vacation for two in the Bahamas; and a wardrobe, including evening wear, swimsuits and jewelry.

The competition involves swimsuit, evening gown and interview phases, which a 12-member panel judged.

Miss Dominican Republic, Ada Aimee De La Cruz, was named first runner-up and would assume Fernandez's duties if she couldn't complete her term.

Emiri Miyasaka, Japan's finalist in the Miss Universe contest, has sparked national consternation over her chosen outfit of a black leather mini kimono that exposed her pink underwear.

Miss Miyasaka, 25, who is due to represent Japan at the beauty pageant in the Bahamas later this month, will now change her outfit to a more modest ensemble following a barrage of criticism.

The controversial costume - recently unveiled on a Tokyo catwalk - resulted in critics bombarding her blog with claims that it was crass, sleazy and an inappropriate representation of Japanese beauty.

While the outfit was loosely based on the national dress in the form of the kimono and obi band, its design clearly consisted of a more extreme modern interpretation.

As well as being fashioned from black leather as opposed to more traditionally subdued kimono fabrics, it was slashed high to reveal the model's fuschia underwear and accessorised with lacy garter belts.

The Georgia Aquarium, located in Atlanta, Georgia at Pemberton Place, is the world's largest aquarium.
