of singapore woman pays $2,600 for 'upgraded' psp

Kotaku plugs the TNP report about a Singaporean woman who claimed to have been duped into paying S$2,600 for a PSP.

nicole $1000 psp
Nicole said that she was overcharged for a Sony PSP that she had bought at a Lucky Plaza shop.
On 12 July, a 41-year-old sales assistant, who wanted to be known only as Nicole, went with her daughter to shop for one at Lucky Plaza. She told The New Paper that she went to a shop owned by Yeow Tat Trading Enterprises. She said that the sales assistant there was polite and helpful, and helped her daughter to choose a black-tinted PSP. When Nicole asked him how much the games cost, he told her that they were free of charge. He added that she only needed to pay for the PSP and licence for software upgrading. He then took the PSP away to download the games and upgrade the software, she said. He returned 15 minutes later with the PSP and the bill - a whopping $3,550.

He agreed to reduce the price to $3,100, but Nicole said it was still too expensive. He then offered reduce it further to $2,610, saying that he wouldn't include anti-virus software. Convinced by the shop assistant, she paid $2,600.

But her brother told her that night that she had paid too much.

They went back to the shop the next day and asked to see the licences for the software, but were told it was confidential. The shop insisted it did not overcharge Nicole, but agreed to waive the service charge. After lengthy negotiations, the price came down to $1,400. But Nicole insisted the maximum she would pay was $1,000.

She got her way and received a $1,600 refund.
After the incident, Nicole approached Consumers' Association of Singapore but she was told that because she had agreed to pay S$1,000, it could not pursue the matter further.

of thailand halts grand theft auto sales after murder

Thailand halts Grand Theft Auto sales after murder: A video game distributor in Thailand has stopped the sales of "Grand Theft Auto" after a teenager confessed to robbing and murdering a taxi driver while trying to recreate a scene from the controversial game.
An 18-year-old high school student, now in custody pending further investigations and a trial, faces death by lethal injection if found guilty of robbing and killing a 54-year-old taxi driver with a knife at the weekend.

Police said the youth, an obsessive player of "Grand Theft Auto", showed no sign of mental problems during questioning and had confessed to committing the crime because of the game. The suspect told police he did not mean to kill the driver, whom he had chosen as a possible victim because of his age, but that he stabbed him to death when he fought back, newspapers reported.

of top 10 most ridiculous undergarments worn by women in video games

Top 10 Most Ridiculous Undergarments Worn by Women in Video Games

perhaps the craziest thing going down in games these days is fashion -- specifically women's fashion. It's hard enough to find a decent female video game character. When you do find them, they're often sporting skin-tight jumpsuits and enough cleavage to smoother a small child. Strip those digital ladies down to their undies and the situation gets even worse. Here then is a list of the top 10 most ridiculous undergarments ever worn by women in video games. Ladies, don't try these on at home -- even while sitting in your living room playing video games. Things could get dangerous.

of rendering niko bellic

Rendering Niko Bellic by pixeloo.

niko bellic gta
Niko Bellic of Grand Theft Auto IV
Here is an image I did for Official Playstation Magazine UK which is in their latest issue. I had a hard time getting it to look exactly like the game model because I started out with an illustration that I realized later was a bit different than the game. So after the fact, I started messing with it to try to get him closer to the game model.

This image involved a lot more illustration on my part than the other ones too since I was changing the lighting compared to my source image.

Anyway, enjoy!
