of uk sex attacker has fled to singapore

Sex attack suspect flees UK: A suspected sex attacker has fled to Singapore. The attacker was white, 50 to 55and 5ft 7ins, stocky, with white or grey hair. He was clean-shaven and was wearing a black waist-length jacket with reflective patches on the upper arms, black gloves, and black trousers.
The incident took place at about 5am on the East Lancs Road in Swinton. The woman escaped when her screams disturbed a neighbour who put on his house light and called police. The suspect was pictured on CCTV at the Total garage near the junction of the dual carriageway and Worsley Road. Moments earlier he had passed the woman who was pushing her bike along the main road towards Manchester. Police received information after a media appeal and swooped on a house in the Salford area. They established that the suspect had left the country and was on the way to Singapore.

Suspect was caught on CCTV

Det Chief Insp Jon Chadwick said,
We have no extradition treaty with Singapore. He was on a plane to Singapore but we do not know if he has continued on to another country. If he can be located it is up to the authorities in Singapore to detain him and return him - but they don't have to do that. We have alerted Interpol but so far we have had no response. If he can be found we would have to apply for an extradition warrant which could be very time-consuming.
