Both people aboard were killed Thursday when a small trainer aircraft crashed into two trucks parked alongside a busy highway on the outskirts of the Argentine capital, authorities said. The plane went down near a gas station on the Panamericana expressway, which links Buenos More.. Aires with its northern suburbs. Argentine air force spokesman Fernando Rubio said the aircraft was "a little training plane with capacity for two people" that took off from San Fernando airport, about 15 kilometers (9 miles) from Buenos Aires, bound for the northwestern province of Entre Rios. Witnesses said it appeared the pilot was attempting to make an emergency landing on the highway. The impact of the plane caused an explosion and fire. Air force experts went to the scene to determine the cause of the deadly accident.
