Singapore's PAP returns to government
First time a GRC is won by Opposition Party, with the Workers' Party grabbing five seats in the Aljunied GRC.
The PAP team lost three appointment holders. Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Lim Hwee Hua and Senior Minister of State Zainul Abidin Rasheed. Zainul Abidin Rasheed was slated to be the next Speaker of Parliament.
By our count, of the 2,012,976 votes cast in the 2011 GE, 1,211,819 went to PAP - 60.2% of the vote
PAP is now 60.2% down from 66.6% in 2006 and 75% 2001
