Singapore's jazz singer Nathan Hartono to perform at NDP: Nathan Hartono, 17-year-old jazz singer, will perform a jazz rendition of "Where I Belong" at the NDP 2008. With 2 albums, he is a big hit with teeangers.

This is what Nathan says about Jazz,

I think jazz is like a blues band that fell down the stairs. It's very free. If I have to sing pop or something like that, I'll feel very constricted as I'm being instructed by the beat or the music... But in jazz, I have been on stage singing 'live' for quite a long time. And a lot of times I forget the lines, and a lot of those times I'll just make stuff up on the spot and it would work out. That's how jazz is.

According to CTV, Nathan had won Teenage Icon 2007, a talent singing competition organized by Teenage Magazine. Since then, the rising star from Music & Movement became the youngest performer to stage two solo concerts titled "Feeling Good with Nathan Hartono" at the Esplanade in June 2007.
