of bangkok suvarnabhumi airport shutdown

Protesters force partial closure of Bangkok airport: Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport shutdown as protesters swarm the airport.
Thousands of anti-government protesters partially shut down Bangkok International airport Tuesday. All departing flights were canceled after the protesters broke into the passenger terminal, Serirat Prasutanond, the director of Suvarnabhumi airport, said. There are also demonstrators sitting on the road in front of the terminal, video of the protest showed. The demonstrators are trying to prevent Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat from returning to the country following an international summit in Peru.

of li hongyi's letter to st forum

Case yet to be made
I REFER to Dr Tan Wu Meng's letter last Friday, 'Why Singapore's political system works', and the follow-ups on Saturday, 'Logic favours two-party system' and 'Governments better off with checks and balances'.

I am pleased that Dr Tan's letter generated strongly worded responses. But I was disappointed that they focused on one side of the argument - the benefits multi-party debate could bring to a political system - while failing to tackle many of his arguments.
Read the rest of the letter at ST Forum.

of 'negarakuku' rapper in the soup again

'Negarakuku' rapper in the soup again: Wee Meng Chee, a.k.a. Namewee on the Internet, who got himself into trouble with the authorities for his "Negarakuku" rap video last year, is in the soup again. This time around he ruffled a few feathers of the directors of his alma mater, Chung Hwa High School, for using the school as the setting of his latest video, "Teacher Hew's Time". The school board deems the three-part video, which was uploaded onto the YouTube recently, as derogatory and damaging to the school's reputation, and wants him to remove the clips from his blog and website with a clarification that the content of the video has nothing to do with the school.
