of work, ict and away

Haven't been blogging for the past 10 days. Had been busy busy at work. On top of that, had 2 days of ICT. Some more I'll be overseas for the whole of next week. So I'll be out of action again.

It has been a hectic week at work. Mostly attended meetings and discussion. Almost squeezed dry.

Finally changed our SL55 for the 3120. We are converted back to Nokia users again.

What have I learnt during my ICT? Nothing has changed much in SAF. Flow of instructions still sucks. Expect the unexpected. On the SAF100, it informs us just to bring the SBO and helmet. Fine. In-processed, to find out that we are not allowed to book out. All have to stay-in. Nevermind that. There's still the gift shop right, as some of you might say. Gift shop has all the essentials. Shower gel, towels, blah blah blah... At 0920hrs, we were informed that all had to sleepover. Closing time for the gift shop? 0930 hrs! Duh!

At home, LancerLady gave Lancerlad a haircut. She had wanted to bring him to the barber but the queue was long and so she gave it a shot at being a barber. DIY.

Now I'll be going through my daily reads over the internet to catch up what I've missed out for the past week.

Happy Lunar New Year to all!

Gong Xi Fa Cai! ("May you be prosperous")
Nian Nian You Yu! ("May you have abundance through the years")
Da Ji Da Li! ("Good luck")
Wan Shi Ru Yi! ("May all your wishes come through")
Cai Yuan Guang Jing! ("May prosperity spread")
Hong Yun Dang Tou! ("May good luck arrive now")
Tian Tian Mi Mi! ("May your life be sweet")
Pian Di Huang Jin! ("May gold pile at your feet")
Yue Lao Yu Qi, Lao Dao Feng Shen Shui Qi! ("May you reap overwhelming fortune")

of stevie wonder fires liverpool to league cup final

In today's news at Yahoo! Sports, there was a headline reading "Stevie Wonder fires Liverpool to League Cup final". I became curious and Wondered what Stevie Wonder did. Having supported Liverpool for a long time, this was Wonderful news.

Reading the news, there wasn't any mention of Stevie Wonder. It only hit the thing inside my head (which many called the Brain) after a while. Then it made sense to me that it was refering to Gerrard.

Browsing the sports news section further, I spotted another earlier news snippet reading "Gerrard fires Liverpool to League Cup final" describing almost the same pice of news.

of frog and book

Kids talk sure can lead to laughter.

Just yesterday Lancerlad said "Uncle fuch...uncle big big fuch" as he pointed to the TV showing Jeff Corwin holding a big frog.

And just now he said "My boobs...my big boobs", holding up his oversized book.

Another do-nothing-much day. Quite stone. Watched Kung Fu Hustle. Arranged and uploaded tons of photos to Flickr. (There was a lot of down time as the site was under maintenance a couple of times.)

Got this pic from funpic. Applesoft, once upon a time progamming language in the 70's and 80's.

Got to know Bikes Against Bush (Joshua Kinberg) and what Germans pranksters are doing.

Some things to do (and they are not new), if you have nothing better to do.
1. If you have plenty of cards, stack them up like whatBryan Berg (Cardstacker) does.
2. Try fingerboarding. Here are the rules

3. Got a Zippo? Try some ZippoTricks or 50 Ways to Rock A Lighter (Alex Aarvik) [Video]

of wait security guard catch you

Lancerlad is sick today. We made an appointment to see the doctor. It's not a good time to see the doctor over the weekend. Long queue. Babies and kids crying everywhere.

Well this was an actual conversation between an elderly mum and her 2 kids, while waiting for their turn to see the doctor. I'm guessing her kids are about 4 -6 yrs old.

Elderly mum: If you all don't behave yourself, the security guard will come and catch you. They have cameras looking at you.

* Both kids started to look up on the ceiling. Their faces scared stiff *

Elderly mum: There there! The camera is just on top of you.

* Both kids remained silent and their faces? Still scared stiff *

I looked up and this was what she was pointing at. She forgot to mention to her kids that this 'camera' also lets off water.
