Updating a previous report posted this week in which we linked to a SuperHeroHype.com piece stating that Warner Bros. would not be re-releasing “The Dark Knight” in theaters, the studio has sent out an official press release stating that the film will indeed head back to both theaters and IMAX across the country on January 23.

Diamond thieves pull off 100-million-dollar Paris heist: 4 armed robbers pulled off one of the world's biggest jewellery heists at the Harry Winston boutique in Paris, making off with 85 million euros (107 million dollars) in diamonds and valuables.

A gang of four thieves -- two of them disguised as women -- on Thursday stole nearly all the jewels on display at the Harry Winston boutique just off the Champs-Elysees avenue, which attracts a wealthy international clientele. The heist was well-planned, a source from the investigating team told AFP. The men knew the names of some of the shop's employees and the location of some hidden storage cases for jewellery. The robbers managed to elude the high-security surveillance system and burst into the boutique at 5:30 pm (1630 GMT), at the height of the holiday shopping season.

O.J. Simpson to Serve at Least 9 Years: Simpson Could Serve Up to 33 Years in Prison.

O.J. Simpson was sentenced to up to 33 years in prison today, with the possibility of release after nine years, for his role in an armed robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers inside a Las Vegas hotel room. Simpson, 61, was sentenced to 16 years for kidnapping and was also sentenced to at least another three years in prison for assault. He will be eligible for parole after six years on the kidnapping charges, meaning he will be eligible for release after nine years. With sentencing enhancements on the kidnapping charge, he could serve as long as 33 years. He had faced up to life in prison.

Judge Jackie Glass ignored Simpson's attorneys' pleas for leniency and denied his request to be released on bail pending his appeal, saying she believed Simpson was a flight risk.
