UM student found dead in Singapore while on study abroad: A University of Miami student on study abroad at the National University of Singapore has died. Scott Jared Monat, a second-year neurobiology major, was found dead in a student housing kitchen at approximately 6 a.m. local time Wednesday morning, according to The Campus Observer, the student newspaper of NUS.

Christopher Aldo, a third-year engineering student staying at Prince George’s Park Residences told The Campus Observer that
I heard that it was a Caucasian exchange student. He was found at about 5 a.m. or 6 a.m. He and some others had been making noise in the kitchen, then around that time he fainted.
Another PGPR resident and a friend of Scott, MD. Rafayet Ullah, confirmed Scott Monat.

The cause of death has yet to be released by police in Singapore.

A facebook group "RIP Scott Monat" was also created.
