Old woman burns to death in West Coast toilet: A 68-year-old woman died after she was found burnt in one of the public toilets along West Coast Park on Feb 6. Johnson was in the vicinity at about 8 pm, and caught sight of police officers and SCDF personnel milling around the area.



Johnson describes the scene,

I witnessed this in West Coast at around 8pm. An ambulance, a police car, a civil defence Rhino and I think there was also a fire engine there. They rushed into the ladies' toilet next to the playground and then immediately cordoned off the area including part of the playground. Then, I saw an old lady crying. A policewoman was consoling her. More policeman came and took many photos as many flashes can be seen coming from the toilet. Some plainclothes officer came and went into the toilet. Some policemen were also searching the area with flashlights as if looking for something.
