of small notebooks (or laptops) are called netbooks

According to i4u,
Since Computex 2008 the term Netbook has emerged as the winning name for the Asus Eee defined category of small and low-cost notebooks.

There have been many names for the new breed of sub-notebooks. My favorite is from Microsoft. They tried to establish "ULCPC", which is an acronym for ultra-low-cost PCs. We also called them mini-notebooks or ultra mobile PCs. The term Netbook was first used by Intel in February according to Wikipedia.

The only confusing term that is still confusing is another Intel creation: MID (Mobile Internet Device). Technically Netbooks are MIDs too. Practically I would only call touch-screen mobile devices that are not smart phones MIDs.
In any case from now on we will call these Asus Eee type small notebooks Netbooks.
For a start, check out these netbooks from MSI and Dell.
- MSI Wind PC
- Dell E and E Slim
