Never ever pass your keys to your kids to play. Even if that is the nearest 'toy' to keep them occupied.
'Lost' my office keys today because Lancerkid misplaced it after I let him play with it yesterday. No choice, I had to give him something to play to make him quiet.
Came back home from work and started ransacking the house. Finally found it in the kitchen.
